Class Expectations

Class Expectations:

The First Grade Class will be expected to do their best in class. I expect them to be kind to each other and to help one another. First Graders like to talk and I will give them plenty of time to interact at their family style seating. However when they are learning new things I expect them to be quiet and listen.

Parent Expectations:

I expect parents to check their child’s backpack and planner every day. I expect parents to sign their child’s planner, Poetry Notebook and Thursday Folder when they come home. I expect parents to check their child’s homework when they are finished. And finally I expect parents to read with their child at least once a week and fill out and sign the reading log that is due every Friday.

A letter at the beginning of the year explains what homework will be given out and the usual routine of homework in our class.

Supply List

LABEL EVERYTHING: Please write your child’s name on EVERYTHING.
Your child’s items look just like everyone else’s. Things get lost, misplaced or accidentally picked up by someone else, especially clothing: Gym clothes, sweaters, jackets, etc.

One (1) Book Bag, No wheels(see Parent/Student Handbook
Two (2) Folders- one red and one blue
Six (6) Glue Sticks ( No Glue Bottles)
One (1) pack of 24 Crayons ( MARKERS OR COLORED PENCILS)
One (1) pair of scissors
One (1) pack of sharpened pencils
One (1) Pencil Box ( no pouches or bags)
Four (4) Boxes of Tissues
Two (2) Containers of Anti -Bacterial Wipes ( for Cleaning Hands)
Boys Two (2) Boxes of Ziploc sandwich Bags
Girls Two (2) Boxes of Ziploc Gallon Bags
Three (3) Rolls of Paper Towels
One (1) Ream of white Copy Paper
